Direct Claims
We are pleased to announce, that we have received Direct Claims status for IT User Skills Level 1 and Functional Skills Maths. Direct Claims status is awarded to providers that complete two External Verifier visits without any action points.
As we have been awarded Direct Claims we can apply for the Certificate after 3 days instead of having to wait for the next visit from the External Verifier.
We have received Direct Claims for both courses upon the first time of applying. Even achieving Direct Claims for Functional Skills Maths before schools!

Katie Booth
Katie Booth has joined Acorn Training as part of the ESF project. Katie will be working with Marisa Bilbie to recruit 14 -18's on the ignite project.
The project is designed to try to eliminate school leavers and those aged 16 -18 from remaining in the NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) category, through mentoring into apprenticeships
Centre Quality Review
We are pleased to announce that we have had the results of our Centre Quality Review for the 10/11 year by Edexcel and that all went well.
Ron Watson said, “Acorn have a positive management and commitment of staff (new and experienced) to deal with the needs of this cohort of learners within the Foundation Learning sector. The new site is impressive, well equipped and supports the learners needs. Management and staff are continually working to adapt and establish good working practices with systems and learners to the particular BTEC quality requirements for the ORD visit. The centre’s BTEC programme's will provide success for learners and the centre itself, through quality development”.
